It's that time of year! The cherry blossoms are blooming and it's pretty amazing. Places where I didn't even remember seeing trees before are frosted with flowers, it's great. But I don't really have any good pictures. Sorry.
On Monday night I went to do the traditional "hanami," or flower viewing, which I learned is basically just a bunch of rowdy people getting drunk in a park that conveniently has many sakura blossoms. Perfect way to spend our Monday night, right? It was just the two of us, so things didn't get TOO out of control. But all those Japanese businessman sure seemed to be having fun!

oh, i bet it is just beautiful!

Am glad you got to enjoy hanami!! It took me a whole day to recover from our party on Saturday. It was VERY traditional in that we were rowdy and drunk. Not that I am proud of that, just wanted to maintain Japanese tradition :)

when my sis and I were at school, we had japanese kids that came to live in our town and our music teacher decided to teach everyone a song in japanese. It was called "sakura" I can still sing it. I can't remember what I did last Thursday, but I can sing you a song in japanese from 4th grade.
